Ok recently we have been going to Gainesville to hang out because the vibe, traffic, crowds, and food are so much accessible than metro Atlanta. We discovered Cotto after having drinks at Downtown Draft across the street (another review) but Cotto Italian spot was absolutely amazing. We ate outside and the temperature was perfect- mild, no humidity and no bugs. Now the spot was clean, elegant, upscale, modern, and accessible. We had drinks, bruschetta, assorted olives, sea bass, ribeye, and a bottle of champagne... Com’on mane anywhere else, this would have been a car note. However, the bill complimented the excellent food! The bruschetta was fresh, succulent, and amazing to the taste buds. The olive appetizer with whipped ricotta was the best we have had anywhere! Amazing! We also had Pesce alla puttanesca or sea bass with asparagus in a rich tomato, garlic, salt and olive oil sauce! Jeezus! The baked zucchini in Alfredo sauce was truly original- big props chef! Additionally we had Manzo Chianti or a ribeye in balsamic glaze sauce, absolutely delicious. We ordered a bottle of Ferrari Rose that hit the spot with meal and didn’t break the budget!! I liked that we were able to take it home and not waste half of bottle. Our waitress Griselda was a sweet heart and was not over the top. She was attentive and navigate 3-4 tables while keeping us satisfied. Nice job! With that, I would highly recommend this Italian restaurant on the square downtown Gainesville!!! I have had lots of Italian cuisines over the years but Cotto has moved #1 and we will be back. I would honestly drive to Gainesville from the city to eat her; trust me!

A great meal and service was exceptional. The din noise was low enough for our group to hear each other speak easily. The calamari is some of the best we have ever had, the same can be said for their Raspberry Almond Tiramisu! We had the ribeye which was exceptional! Our waitress - Braylen was fun, knowledgeable, and checked in us at the right times. Will ask for her again when we return a great experience all around!

I was super impressed by the staff they were amazing, my husband had an issue with his (his steak was a little overcooked) but as soon as the staff found out they quickly got him another steak cooked to his liking. We have been there several times after that and everything has been excellent.

Amazing service from our server Braylon (sp?), the bartender definitely knows how to expertly craft a cocktail, the food was beautiful, high quality and absolutely delicious. We had the Cotto sour, Fly me to the Moon, That’s Amore, burrata appetizer, lobster ravioli, Fra Diablo, and pana cotta. Highly recommend visiting this spot! We will be going back soon.

Really enjoyed my meal here. I was reluctant to stop in because I figured it was reservation only. Decided to open the door and was greeted with hospitality and smiles. The waiter was extremely polite and knowledgeable. He asked my preferences and nailed every recommendation after listening to what I liked. Will be returning and would definitely recommend.

My husband and I came here for our anniversary tonight. It was absolutely incredible. I don’t usually leave reviews, but I felt compelled to after our dining experience. Every single thing we ordered (drinks, appetizers, and entrees) was delicious. Our bartender/server Gabriel was fantastic. Very attentive and pleasant. We will definitely be back!

My wife and I had an exceptional date night at Cotto. We started out with the Insalata Di Rucola with baby arulgula,prosciutta, fig, ricotta sub dried tomatoes and a delicious lemon vinaigrette and it was to die for and we shared it. My wife had the spaghetti with the homemade meatballs and I tried the lasagna. Both dishes were awesome. They have a full bar and a great wine selection. What really made our evening was the excellent staff. Braylyn was our fabulous server and Alexis was incredibly fabulous and both ladies were eager to make sure we were having an enjoy evening. Highly recommend giving Cotto a try

11/10 is no exaggeration for this wonderful example of fine Italian dining. The chef must be some kind of seafood master! I had the lobster ravioli and my wife the seafood fra diavolo which contained shrimp, crab, calamari and mussels so we got the whole oceanic tour. Every single protein was perfection-sweet, buttery and melt in your mouth. Entire lobster claw and the ravioli was packed as well. The Cotto sour was the best whiskey sour I have had in any state, ordered it twice. Do not miss this place, its hands down one of the best Italian eateries in the country.
